hi, i'm elizabeth!
I have been lucky enough to call fitness and nutrition a career since 2011, from working at world-renowned gyms in NYC like Mark Fisher Fitness and Physique57, to private boutique gyms, and now wearing all the hats as a solo entrepreneur (and full time dog mom!). My articles have been the top-performing blogs on the Mark Fisher Fitness website since 2016, I have appeared on The Fitness Blitz Podcast, the Female Fitness Entrepreneur Summit, and have been interviewed for numerous fitness blogs, which was a goal in 2017! I continue growing as a coach and entrepreneur every single day, and am always driven by the desire to bring solid content and helpful strategies to all my clients and followers.
My interest in fitness and nutrition, however, started many years ago, and it wasn't always "pretty". haha!
I grew up a dancer and had a special affinity for workout VHS's (LOL - yes, I said VHS). I was raised eating healthily, and I loved working out, but as I grew into my high school, college and professional years, I was not equipped with strategies to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. I kept calories as low as possible, did a ton of cardio when I could, and it's no shock, I was pretty unhappy with my reflection. In fact, the desire to be thin, especially as a performer, lead me to disordered eating my final year in college, and even though I went on to pursue a successful career in music theater, moving to NYC and performing on Broadway tours, it actually took stepping away from the stage to truly learn healthy, research-based strategies to feel confident and awesome in the body I have.
This shift in mentality happened as a result of my shift in careers, in 2011 when I took a leap of faith, hung up my LaDuca dancing shoes, and entered the world of fitness. Because of the empowerment I myself have found, the knowledge and strategies I have and continue to learn, my mission is to share it with everyone I can.
I am a magna cum laude graduate of Florida State University, a Certified Functional Strength and Conditioning coach (MBSC), Strong First Level 1 Kettlebell Instructor and TRX-1 certified, Precision Nutrition Student and currently studying for my pre and post-natal certification.
In NYC, I taught as a barre instructor at Physique57, now global, training hundreds of strong women on all walks of life, including Erin Andrews, Abigail Breslin and Norma Kamali.
But it isn't this star-studded roster that brought me to where I am today. I credit the incredible coaches and mentors I've had, including Mark Fisher (and all my colleagues at MFF), Molly Galbraith of Girls Gone Strong, Artemis Scantilades of Iron Body, the entire team at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning, Dr. Stacy Sims, and so many more. These are the people who define me, continue to challenge me to get better as a human and as a coach.
