Grady's Iced Coffee

I admit it. I am a recovering flavoured coffee creamer junkie.

I'm talking, International Delights, Coffeemate and Bailey's flavoured creamers. French Vanilla, Hazelnut, Dulce de Leche, Pumpkin Spice...basically if it is pumped full of palm oil and sugar and chemicals, then I'm chugging it in the morning.

I've tried to wean myself off, but *sigh* I always return to it. UNTIL...

I started cold brewing my own coffee at home. I kind of don't remember life before this.

Step 2: Place one bean bag in 14 oz cold water. Allow to steep overnight (Grady's recommends 12+ hours).

Step 3: In the morning, pour over ice, and add milk of choice. I prefer almond coconut milk, and prefer a lot of it. I add a pinch of splenda, too. Grady's is already sweetened with chicory root, so make sure to sip before you sweeten.

Step 4: Revel in the deliciousness and the fact that it's only 45 calories, 3.5 grams of ALL HEALTHY FATS, and zero sugar. And that's assuming you drown your cold brew in an entire cup of almond coconut milk, like I do.

MOST MAGICAL THING to happen to me in 2015, besides getting engaged. ;-)

smile + protein,

Elizabeth
